Preventive Care

The foundation of dental care is prevention, including:

  • Routine dental examinations, including oral cancer screenings
  • Diagnostic x-rays
  • Professional teeth cleanings to keep teeth and gums healthy

The American Dental Association recommends that patients visit their dentist every six months for checkups and cleanings, and for most patients, this is an excellent guideline. Good home care that includes brushing at least twice and flossing at least once per day can help keep your smile healthy.

  • Invisalign
  • Crowns
  • Crown lengthening

Restorative Treatments

Missing or damaged teeth not only impact the way your smile looks but its function as well. We can restore or replace teeth that are negatively impacting your oral health.

  • Crowns and bridges

I always feel very confident in their work

Very professional and friendly staff. I had a crown and fillings done and I am very happy with the results! They'll work with you on payment plans, which is definitely a plus. I always feel very confident in their work, mostly because I can see that work when I smile in the mirror!

Frequently Asked Questions

All doctors have trained in residency programs geared toward family dentistry and are all trained in pediatric dentistry. We love seeing children and proudly offer family dentistry at our Parsippany dental office.

Did you know that the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children have their first dental appointment by age one? Bringing your little one early not only gives our dentists an opportunity to monitor their dental health and development, but also helps them become familiar with the dental office setting.

We will let them hold the mirror while we brush their teeth and sneak a peek at how their teeth are coming in. This is also a great time to talk to parents about healthy nutrition and to discuss habits like thumb sucking and bottle use.

We like to think of these early childhood visits as a fun and interactive way to help your child understand that brushing and flossing are important, and the dentist is fun – not scary at all.

As your child grows, we will adjust our dental appointments to include an exam, cleaning, and bitewing x-rays. We recommend fluoride treatments or sealants for kids with a higher risk of dental caries (decay).

If you are looking for children’s dentistry in Parsippany, give Gruber Dental a call. We love treating little smiles.

Your first exam is designed to not only evaluate your oral health, but also to help you get to know our team, and for us to understand your goals for your smile.

At your initial full exam, you should plan on spending about 90 minutes in our Parsippany, NJ dental office. While it may seem like a long time, it’s important to remember that we need a full picture of your oral health to provide you with the exceptional dentistry you deserve.

We will start with a full set of x-rays, photos, Spectra caries detection, VELscope oral cancer detection, periodontal charting to identify infection, a gentle, yet thorough teeth cleaning, and a comprehensive exam with your dentist. Your exam will include a tooth-by-tooth inspection to look for decay, cracks, or uneven wear patterns. We will also discuss ay sleep-related issues like TMD or sleep apnea.

At this appointment, we will discuss any future treatment or areas that require your attention.

This first exam will establish you as a patient and help us get acquainted. We want you to feel at home while you are with us. If there is anything we can do to make you more comfortable, don’t hesitate to ask.

Your physical and emotional well-being is extremely important to our Parsippany dental team. If you feel nervous, you are not alone. Our gentle and caring dentists are here to ensure that you feel completely relaxed throughout your appointment.

We offer a number of ways to help our patients relax. All invasive procedures are done under local anesthesia.

For those with mild anxiety, our movie goggles and Netflix will help keep you distracted and entertained while we look after your oral health.

For patients who have anxiety, we can offer nitrous oxide and oral sedation.

Nitrous oxide is a gas that you inhale through a small nose mask. It enters the system quickly and produces a relaxed sense of wellbeing. Many people prefer this mild dental sedation because once we stop administering the gas, it leaves your system quickly, and you can go about your day.

Oral sedation is a longer-lasting form of sedation that requires a full medical history to determine if the prescription medication is right for you. Oral sedation will take some time to wear off, so you will need a driver to take you home from your appointment and you should take it easy until the next morning.

To learn more about sedation dentistry, contact our Parsippany dental office to book an exam with one of our gentle dentists.
