Invisalign Clear Braces

If you are an adult who has been living with crooked or misaligned teeth, you have probably come to a place of acceptance about it. But you don’t have to stay there! With today’s invisible braces options, many adults are undergoing orthodontic treatment that is discreet enough to fit any lifestyle. Not only do straight teeth improve the look of your smile, but did you know an aligned smile might actually be healthier?

We treat many older teens and adults with invisible braces, including Invisalign and other options, at our Parsippany, NJ dental office—and we’d love to treat you. Give us a call to find out about straightening your smile without a mouth full of metal wires and brackets.

The Problem with Misaligned Teeth

Sure, straight teeth make for a more attractive smile. But straight teeth are also easier to take care of. Crooked or overlapped teeth create a lot of hard-to-reach places when you are trying to brush and floss your teeth. Misaligned teeth more easily collect food particles, which can lead to bacteria and plaque when they are not removed completely.

You might also find you are more diligent about oral care when you love the way your smile looks. Most people are more apt to take better care of a sleek new sports car versus a rusty old clunker. The same is true with your smile!

The Invisible Braces Process

Invisalign and other clear braces options use a series of clear plastic aligners designed to gently nudge your teeth into the proper position. On a prescribed schedule, you will switch to a new set of aligners every few weeks, watching as your teeth gradually move into the desired position.

Treatment with Invisalign may be faster than traditional orthodontics, and many patients reach their smile goals within a year or a year and a half. But because everyone is different, only your dentist can tell you how long your treatment will last.

Unlike the frequent dental appointments that are necessary with traditional braces, busy adults who undergo invisible braces treatment appreciate that they won’t need to visit the dentist all that often. You’ll get several sets of aligners at the same time to swap out on schedule.

Advantages of Invisible Braces

Other than the fact that the plastic aligners are clear and virtually undetectable, invisible braces have other benefits:

  • You’ll remove the aligners for eating, so there are no food restrictions, and you won’t have to worry about food particles getting stuck between wires.
  • Cleaning your teeth is easy with invisible braces, too; just brush and floss as you normally would.
  • If you have a special occasion, such as a wedding, reunion, or job interview, you can remove the invisible braces during the event. Just be sure to put the aligners back in afterward.
  • The only possible drawback to invisible braces is that you’ll have to ensure you are compliant about wearing the clear plastic aligners for at least 22 hours per day.

I always feel very confident in their work

Very professional and friendly staff. I had a crown and fillings done and I am very happy with the results! They'll work with you on payment plans, which is definitely a plus. I always feel very confident in their work, mostly because I can see that work when I smile in the mirror!
